Having many successful years with Lanning Gallery of Sedona, Arizona and being represented in some of the most prestigious galleries of the Southwest, artist SJ Shaffer has opened her own gallery representing herself, Mike Medow and Juan Ezcurdia. Shaffer's paintings reflect the culture and heritage of the people of Mexico, Central America and the Southwest. Her paintings are rich in color and steeped in the celebration of daily life. Medow's wood sculptures, some carved from Arizona's Alligator Juniper wood or Costa Rica's Cocobola wood, express the human form in a curved smoothness. SHAFFER THE GALLERY is proud to introduce to America and Sedona, artist Juan Ezcurdia. Born and raised in Mexico City, five years ago he moved to the beautiful and colorful city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Ezcurdia's paintings show in full color; magical cows, lion ladies, dogs and cats, rainbow men and other fantasy creatures floating, dancing and simple being.
